Pruning of the vine. The goal of cutting the wine is to get healthy, vigorous plants with lovely grapes. Mon squeezing both the winter and then continuously during the growing season. The last I return to when the time comes. There are many different parent to prune wine, but I use it simplest. Winter Pruning Back clipping of wine is a vintersyssel, as appropriate may made 1st January. If you do not think you are in the form of days, I will however recommend that you get it done before 1 March. Otherwise you risk that the wine is soft (when plants grow slowly moving in early spring, rising plant tonight up in the plant) and it increases the risk of disease. All side shoots (last year's shoots) cut right into the main stem, only thickening, knot, which is between the main trunk and side kick is back. The new shoots will now resemble small dark "eyes". Be careful not to damage them. The main tribe must keep around. 50cm of new growth from last year (applies to older established plants). One can possibly. receptacle 2-4 strong side shoots, which may either be tied horizontally or vertically. These side shoots should not be over 1m first year. For the construction of permanent side shoots treated them in the future as main stem. The clippings side shoots can be used as cuttings for pleasure for oneself, friends and acquaintances. They are cut into lengths, so there are 3 buds on each and then placed in a plastic bag, stored in refrigerator for the spring and the ground is convenient. They can be planted directly into the kitchen garden with approx. half above the ground. Many of the would simply begin to grow. But use only shots from the absolute healthy plants. Debarking Once the trimming is over, the branches should be cleaned. This means that old bark removed. This is done by using an acute stick, a curved pocket knife or an awl. Gently pull the old bark of the hands when you've got hold of one end. Beware not to final damaged by the new and buds. The principle is to get ripped off all old bark of the way into the smooth strain layer. The reason why this is so important is that the cortex can be easily through the div. pests, such as Scale and uldlus spinning mites. It is a big job, but might pay off. Molds If you are unfortunate enough to have mold in its wine, the grapes are covered with a disgusting gray layer of "dust". But there is advice: When the trimming and debarking are done, wash the stick (strain) and permanent side shot of the brown soap-water (1 / 10). This treatment is repeated a few times over the winter and spring. This advice only works which deal with the problem and can not be used as a preventive agent. Surroundings It is always important to keep the wine surroundings clean in order not to transfer diseases from last year. If vines grow up the outdoor wall or wall, they shall be thoroughly clean with warm, hot and a stiff brush. The same is true in winter room or greenhouse. Be careful cleaning. Once again I resort to hot water with a little brown soap and a good brush. |
